What is Remote Code Execution (RCE)?

Definition

The most critical vulnerability class, allowing an attacker to execute arbitrary commands on the target server.

Security Impact

Total system compromise. The attacker gains full control over the application and underlying infrastructure.

How to Remediate

Avoid unsafe deserialization, sanitize file uploads, use minimal container images, and restrict outbound network access.
